    Good afternoon,

    Thank you for your enquiry about the consultation concerning proposed changes to the 67 and 149 bus routes. 

    There is a higher level of bus service than required on the A10 and A1010, including Tottenham High Road. We are consulting on restructuring the route to ensure capacity meets demand on the network. We continually review the level of demand for bus services and are confident that the new changes would still provide sufficient capacity. The local network would continue to be monitored to help ensure that the right level of service is provided if the planned changes are introduced.

    Thank you for your enquiry about the consultation concerning proposed changes to the 67 and 149 bus routes. 

    There is currently surplus capacity on bus routes operating on the A10 and A1010 'corridor' and making this proposed change would ensure that capacity better matches demand on the network. The 67 and 149 bus routes consultation proposes withdrawing route 67 and rerouting route 149 to Wood Green, this would see all bus stops currently served by the 67 route be served by the proposed changed 149 route.

    Extending the 67 route would not resolve the primary issue of surplus capacity currently operating on the bus network.

    Thank you for your thoughts about the 221 bus route and its level of usage. While the current consultation is only covers proposals to change routes 67 and 149, the wider network remains under continual review to help ensure that sufficient capacity is provided where it is required.

    Thank you for your questions. 

    Your questions relate to a separate consultation that covered proposed changes to bus routes 259, 279 and 349, this consultation was open for responses until 23 January 2026 and the consultation report was published on 26 June 2026. In this, we confirmed our decision to proceed with changes to routes 259, 279 and 349, this did included withdrawing route 349 and changing routes 259 and 279 to better match services to current travel demand.     When developing consultations, we follow best practice guidelines to ensure our activities are legally compliant, open, and honest. Through consultation, we seek to obtain feedback from respondents and to understand the reasons why they may view proposals positively or negatively.  

    Through this feedback, a range of concerns were raised in response to the consultation which we have considered carefully. It’s important to note that a consultation is not a referendum or a vote. Its purpose is to gather feedback and views from those impacted by our proposals to assist our decision-making process. A consultation doesn’t simply present a binary vote of support or opposition, rather it provides the detail as to why people may support or oppose a proposal. This detail assists us in determining how we can respond to these concerns and potentially mitigate them.

    We have made some changes to the proposals following feedback gathered from the consultation process; Rather than terminating on Camden Road, route 259 will continue to the northern end of Caledonian Road, serving Stop V. This change will allow same-stop interchange for southbound passengers between route 259 and routes 17 and 91, making onward journeys easier and more intuitive. In the northbound direction, route 259 will also serve stops E, F and G on Hillmarton Road, helping to maintain access to this area and ensuring that local connections remain strong and reliable. Together, these improvements are designed to respond to concerns raise during the consultation and make journeys smoother, more joined-up, and easier to navigate for everyone using the network. We will also provide increased frequency on the 259 route in the early morning period to make journeys easier.

    Customers will also be able to use the hopper fare to interchange at the stop locations mentioned above, with school students having access to Oyster zip photocards.

    The night service on route 149 would not change as part of these proposals and would continue to run between Edmonton Green and London Bridge on all nights of the week. It would be re-numbered as route N149.

    Thank you for your question. 

    We can confirm the route of the proposed N149 is the same as the existing 149 route – please see consultation materials for full details.  There are also no plans to alter bus route 243 which operates a 24-hour service between Wood Green and Waterloo through Tottenham High Road.
