Are these changes connected to the Oxford Street pedestrianisation consultation?
No, we know people’s travel patterns have changed and these proposals form part of our regular review of the bus network to ensure that we are still providing buses where they are required and that they are operating at the right frequency.
I thought there were no planned changes to central London buses after the central London Bus review a few years ago
We always review our bus network to ensure that capacity is matched to the demand at the busiest points along the routes. This means that we can be sure that we are making the most of the resources that we have and if there are any savings, we can target them at other areas of our network that need them.
If these changes go ahead, when would they be implemented?
Subject to the outcome of this consultation, we would introduce any changes on 13 November 2026.
