Re-route the 232 to Haringey Heartlands

Our proposals

Bus route 232 currently runs between St. Raphael’s Estate in Neasden and Turnpike Lane Station.

We propose to re-route the 232 to serve Haringey Heartlands, terminating in the development instead of Turnpike Lane Station.

Route 232 would no longer serve Wood Green High Road. The routeing between Wood Green Station and St. Raphael’s Estate would not change as part of these proposals

Re-routeing would provide a new bus route for the Haringey Heartlands development, creating new journey opportunities to the north of the borough, and to other key locations such as Arnos Grove Station and Brent Cross Shopping Centre. The proposed re-routeing would also help to reduce the number of buses running on Wood Green High Road.

From Wood Green Station, route 232 would run on Station Road, Mayes Road, Brook Road and Silsoe Road where it would terminate. Towards Wood Green, it would run on Silsoe Road, Coburg Road, Mayes Road and Station Road.

Brook Road and Silsoe Road are expected to be closed until early-2028 to allow construction to take place. Route 232 would run on an alternative temporary routeing until both roads are open. From Wood Green Station, it would run on Station Road, Mayes Road and Coburg where it would terminate. Towards Wood Green, it would run on Coburg Road, Western Road, Mayes Road and Station Road.

Current frequencies would remain as they are. Proposed bus stop names and locations are indicative for consultation purposes.

How these proposals may change your bus journey

  • Route 232 would newly serve existing stops A and B on Station Road at Wood Green. New bus stops in both directions are planned within Haringey Heartlands on Silsoe Road/Coburg Road (and on Western Road when the temporary routeing is in place. This would provide new direct bus links to Haringey Heartlands as well as the nearby centre of Wood Green
  • New direct journey opportunities would also be provided between Haringey Heartlands and key locations such as Brent Cross and Neasden
  • All bus stops on route 232 between Wood Green Station and St Raphael’s Estate would continue to be served
  • Route 232 customers who currently use bus stops on Wood Green High Road would be able to access the High Road from stops at Wood Green Station or change bus to complete their journey. Interchange between bus routes would be possible at Wood Green Station
