Pedicab operators
A London Pedicab Operator’s Licence is required for any individual or entity that, by any means, facilitates the provision of two or more pedicabs for hire or reward. This includes, but is not limited to:
Owning, leasing, or renting out two or more pedicabs for commercial use
Employing or contracting drivers to operate pedicabs
Operating a booking platform, dispatch system, or other service that enables members of the public to arrange journeys in pedicabs for payment
Otherwise making pedicabs available for hire or reward, whether directly or through a third party
This definition applies regardless of whether the operator owns the pedicabs or employs the drivers, and includes digital platforms, fleet managers, and any other intermediaries involved in the commercial operation of pedicabs.
A London Pedicab Operator’s Licence does not confer the right to drive a pedicab for hire or reward. Any individual who wishes to drive a pedicab for hire or reward must hold a valid Pedicab Driver’s Licence, regardless of whether they also hold a London Pedicab Operator’s Licence.
