Proposed changes – Bus route 336 fixed stops installation and route change

Locations of new sinusoidal cushions

  • The existing humps in Haddington Road and Oakshade Road will be changed to sinusoidal cushions.
  • The raised table on Shroffold Road will be removed and changed to sinusoidal cushions
  • Speed cushions in Churchdown outside number 101 to be relocated and new sinusoidal cushions to installed outside number 103 to accommodate a new passing place

Locations of parking bays which will be removed for a new bus cage and flag

Southbound

  • Location 1 – Canadian Avenue – Outside 1 to 24 Maple Court – CPZ Parking Bay will be removed with 5 parking spaces
  • Location 2 – Fordmill Road – Side of 48/48a Canadian Avenue – 6 unrestricted kerb side parking spaces will be removed
  • Location 3 - Fordmill Road – Outside 57 Fordmill Road - Current location of informal bus stop - Footway parking area will be removed – with 5 spaces
  • Location 4 – Brookhowse Road – Outside 63 – Current location of informal bus stop – Parking at this location will not be affected
  • Location 5 – Brookhowse Road – Opposite 74-80, side of 33 Broadmead Road – new bay to be constructed - Footway parking will be removed – 4 spaces
  • Location 6 –Brookhowse Road – Opposite 100-104 - Current location of informal bus stop – Footway Parking will be removed – 9 spaces
  • Location 7 – Brookhowse Road – Outside 263-267 - Footway Parking will be removed – 6 spaces
  • Location 8 – Haddington Road – Side of No 1 Oakshade Road - Double yellow line restrictions to be installed on bend for 5m in both directions – 5 unrestricted kerb side parking spaces will be removed
  • Location 9 – Oakshade Road – Side of No 91 Downderry Road – Double yellow line restrictions to be installed on bend for 5m in both directions - Unrestricted kerb side parking will be removed – 4 spaces
  • Location 10 – Churchdown – Outside No 90-100 - Inset Bay to be constructed – 9 footway parking spaces will be removed

Northbound

  • Location 1 – Churchdown – Outside 11-19 - Inset Bay to be constructed – 9 footway parking spaces will be removed
  • Location 2 – Shroffold Road – Corner of Ravenscar Road – Location of current informal fixed stop - Parking will not be affected
  • Location 3 - Churchdown – Outside 95-103 – Inset Bay to be constructed – 6 footway parking spaces will be removed
  • Location 4 – Brookhowse Road – Outside 190-194, near junction of Farmstead Road Outside – 6 footway parking spaces will be removed
  • Location 5 – Brookhowse Road – Opposite 195-201, in front of grassed area – Inset Bay to be constructed - Parking will not be affected.
  • Location 6 – Brookhowse Road – Outside 80-86 – 4 footway parking spaces will be removed
  • Location 7 - Brookhowse Road – Corner of Firhill Road – Parking will not be affected
  • Location 8 - Fordmill Road – Opposite 13-17 Fordmill Road – 5 footway parking spaces will be removed

Proposed changes to the pavement

  • Southbound on Brookhowse Road – Opposite 74-80, side of 33 Broadmead Road – Footway Parking will be removed - Inset Bay to be constructed (Passing Place)
  • Northbound on Churchdown – Outside 11-19 - Footway Parking will be removed – Inset Bay to be constructed (Passing Place)
  • Southbound on Churchdown – Outside No 90-100 - Footway Parking will be removed – Inset Bay to be constructed (Passing Place)
  • Northbound on Churchdown – Outside 95-103 - Footway Parking will be removed – Inset Bay to be constructed (Passing Place)
  • Northbound on Brookhowse Road – Opposite 195-201, in front of grassed area – Inset Bay to be constructed (Passing Place)

A total of 63 parking spaces will be removed.

Installation of yellow line restrictions

Based on the recommendation from the safety audit, double yellow line restrictions will be placed:

  • on the junction of Oakshade Road and Haddington Road and opposite the junction of Oakshade Road
  • on the bend in Churchdown opposite Nos 6-16 - Footway parking will also be removed on the bend
