The DCO requires us to ensure all the buses using the tunnels at least meet Euro VI engine standards, which we would be able to comply with. However, we are planning to make the fleet of buses serving the Silvertown and Blackwall Tunnels completely zero-emission. Making the Silvertown Tunnel bus network zero emission will be subject to infrastructure upgrades to the relevant bus garages and other factors, not entirely within the control of TfL. However, we are confident we will be able to meet this aspiration in time for the opening of the tunnel.
