Options
We have developed the following seven options and would like your views.
Options 1, 2 and 3 include options for the minimum fare and increasing Tariffs 1, 2 and 3 by the full Cost Index figure of 7.48%.
Options 4, 5 and 6 include options for changes to the minimum fare and increases to Tariffs 1, 2 and 3 using the driver costs component of the Cost Index only, 4.17%.
Option 7 is to freeze taxi fares for 2025/26.
Option 1:
- No change in minimum fare
- Tariffs 1, 2 and 3 would be increased by the full Cost Index figure (+7.48%)
- Tariff 4 would be increased to be in line with Tariff 2
Option 2:
- Minimum fare would increase by 20 pence, from £3.80 to £4.00
- Tariffs 1, 2 and 3 would increase by 6.27%
- Tariff 4 would be increased to be in line with Tariff 2
Option 3:
- Minimum fare would increase by 40 pence from £3.80 to £4.20
- Tariffs 1, 2 and 3 would increase by 5.05%
- Tariff 4 would be increased to be in line with Tariff 2
Options 4, 5 and 6 include options for changes to the minimum fare and increases to Tariffs 1, 2 and 3 using the driver costs component of the Cost Index only, 4.17%.
Option 4:
- Minimum fare frozen at £3.80
- Tariffs 1, 2 and 3 would increase by 4.17%
- Tariff 4 would be increased to be in line with Tariff 2
Option 5
- Minimum fare increased by 20 pence to £4.00
- Tariffs 1, 2 and 3 would increase by 2.96%
- Tariff 4 increased in line with Tariff 2
Option 6
- Minimum fare increased by 40 pence to £4.20
- Tariffs 1, 2 and 3 would increase by 1.74%
- Tariff 4 increased in line with Tariff 2
Option 7
- No change to minimum fare
- No change to Tariffs 1, 2, 3 or 4
- Fares frozen for 2025/26
