Bluebustours asked 6 days agoThe West London Orbital (WLO) would operate alongside existing services across the proposed route, including the South Western services on the Hounslow Loop. We are working closely with Network Rail on timetable assessment work to plan the most efficient way to incorporate the additional WLO services. Work to date demonstrates that there are not expected to be any impacts to frequencies or journey times of existing passenger services. This includes safeguarding for the future reintroduction of a 4tph off-peak Hounslow Loop service.

LondonNW10 asked 24 days agoWe understand that Network Rail will be upgrading the whole of the Dudding Hill line to W12 gauge in advance of WLO services commencing. This is to facilitate W12 gauge freight trains serving the new Radlett Strategic Rail Freight Interchange which is due to open in 2028.
The earliest date for construction to start on the WLO project is 2031. We have therefore not estimated the cost of upgrading the rest of the line to W12 gauge as this would not be necessary to deliver the WLO project.
Any gauge clearance works required to deliver the WLO project on the route between Hounslow and Hendon will be covered in our Transport & Works Act Order application.

Work to date demonstrates that there are not expected to be any impacts to frequencies or journey times of existing passenger services. A third platform would not be built at Hounslow, instead we are proposing turnback sidings west of the station, which are short sections of new track off the main running lines that allow trains to leave passenger service, wait, and rejoin the route without blocking other trains.

John19 asked about 1 month agoAt this stage we do not hold detailed information on the origins and destinations of vehicles using Bollo Lane level crossing; more data will be collected as part of the next stage of work.
There are no plans to close the level crossing used by the 70 and 440 buses, which would continue to access Chiswick Business Park; and access by vehicles to the Chiswick Works building and other properties between the crossings can continue via the same level crossing. No decision has been made yet on whether the Mildmay line crossing would close. -

MonksPark commuter asked about 1 month agoWildlife is an important consideration for the scheme. A detailed Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will be undertaken to identify any potential effects on habitats and species, and appropriate measures will be put in place to avoid, reduce or mitigate impacts where necessary.

iannai asked about 1 month agoWe need to do more work on the level crossing proposals as part of the overall development of the WLO project. At this stage we do not hold detailed information on the sources and destinations of vehicles using the level crossing at Churchfield Road; more data will be collected as part of the next phase of work.
Following the consultation, we are planning to engage with local communities around the level crossings to help us identify the best solutions and before any options are finalised.
No decision has been made yet on whether the crossing would close. Managing traffic flows will be considered, working closely with Ealing Council as the highway authority in the area. -
