We have been working with local stakeholders, including Bexley Council, to provide a new bus stand at Bexleyheath Library. This will help us to deliver a more reliable bus network in Bexleyheath by freeing up space at our other bus stands at Friswell Place and Geddes Place.

The changes will be implemented in a phased approach starting on 21 January 2023 with the B13, and later in the year routes 269 and B14. You will still have excellent access to Bexleyheath town centre and these changes will improve reliability through a shorter journey into the town centre.

These changes will simplify the routeing of the 269 and B13, which follow different routes arriving and departing Bexleyheath.

Trinity Place (Asda) will no longer be served by these routes, however it’s a short walk to Bexleyheath Library, located on Townley Road, for routes 269, B13 and B14. As routes 269 and B13 only serve Asda on journeys that terminate at Bexleyheath, this will impact a relatively small number of passengers. The changes will ensure the optimal operation of the bus network in your area.

Moving the 269 will remove the common stop for buses towards Sidcup, doubling the average wait time for one of the borough’s busiest movements. This is an absolute disgrace.

This change will greatly reduce the easiness of interchanges between buses in Bexleyheath and therefore reduce reliability for those making longer journeys. (e.g. 401-269)

my 13 year old was left confused as to where the bus stop was for B13 and now B14 and didn't understand why it says going to Crayford? with no indication for going towards sidcup/eltham I had to go and pick her up in the car. We used to be able to get either bus from clock tower now you have to place your bet and chose one. :/

Unless a new stand is going to be put in place, I'd suggest the B14 goes the opposite way round the loop, serving stop Z to avoid having 3 buses in the lane at the same time. Overall though I think it's a good idea as it takes the pressure off of the existing stands. The next phase would be to use the TC like authority to 'allow within reason' buses to arrive on the stands early to stop dawdling when traffic is lighter than expected. Allow the buses to flow at a continual pace instead of waiting at every stop due to a problem 3 buses ahead. Come away from the perfect headway idealism as it's not getting bums on seats.

Do not agree with any of the changes. As all buses start in the same place at Bexleyheath currently it is easy to swap between buses.

It is bad that until I made a complaint about where the consultation was for this TfL put nothing out. Also think it’s bad that it’s been done so close to the B13 change that not matter what is said, the change will happen.
