    Thank you for your comments.

There are not plans to further revise what is proposed for the BL1 at this stage. However we are actively seeking your views. Public consultation invites respondents to formally submit views related to bus stop locations for the BL1 and we would encourage you to take part in our consultation survey and suggest your ideas for Catford town centre and Lewisham Hospital there.

    Thank you for your question.

The suggested stop locations for the BL1 align with potential sites of Bakerloo Line extension (BLE) stations and support our future proposals to deliver this.

A viable funding package is needed to build the BLE, and we will continue discussions with the Government while being realistic about the funding London could contribute to an extension over the coming years.
You can read more about the BLE on our website here: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/about-tfl/how-we-work/planning-for-the-future/bakerloo-line-extension

There are still future proposals for a new station called Surrey Canal between Surrey Quays and Queens Road Peckham on the London Overground Windrush line. These future proposals are not within the scope of this current bus route consultation.

    Thank you for your question.

Route BL1 is initially not proposed to stop at Bricklayers Arms as it is not a proposed station on the Bakerloo Line Extension (BLE). However, this would not preclude the inclusion of an additional stop if it could be proven it provides significant benefits to what the BLE stops offer.

The main benefits currently identified in the Bricklayers Arms area is for the BL1 to use the flyover heading southbound. By using the flyover and the proximity of stops either side of it, to the current proposed stops at Elephant & Castle and Burgess Park there is currently not a case for the BL1 to stop at Bricklayers Arms.

    Thank you for your question.

We forecast the BL1 would take approximately 40-50 minutes to travel between Lewisham and Waterloo. During peak travel times journey times may be longer, as traffic conditions change.

    Thank you for your questions.

The BL1 proposals focus on plans for an express bus route, including where the route may stop.

If, following consultation we decide to proceed to introduce the route, then normal bus fares would apply on route BL1. Freedom and concessionary passes would also be valid, subject to the usual restrictions.
As is the case now, if you travel by bus then transfer to the Tube for your onward journey, then a bus fare followed by a Tube fare would apply.

Customers that make several Tube or rail journeys, or a mixture of rail, bus and tram journeys in one day, would be able to use a Travelcard or pay as the go. Our pay as you go system also has a daily cap that automatically limits fares to a certain amount. Read more about caps here

There are peak and off-peak daily caps depending on when you start your journey.

If, in the future, the London Underground Bakerloo line were to be extended, then a single Tube fare would apply for that continuous journey.

    Thank you for your question.

You can take folded cycles anywhere, at any time on all our transport services. However, on buses the driver can decide not to let you travel if it's too busy. Non-folded cycles cannot be taken on buses and trams.

The Transport for London website provides further guidance about cycles on public transport

Thank you for your question. Our plans to introduce route BL1 are subject to the outcome of public consultation. Following consultation we will take time to review the feedback we receive before making a decision as to whether or not to proceed with the route.

    Thank you for your question.

We forecast the BL1 would take approximately 40-50 minutes to travel between Lewisham and Waterloo. There is no equivalent existing bus route to compare journey times with.
