    Thank you for this question.

Taking into consideration traffic conditions, it may take up to 75 minutes to complete a journey on the SL15 if travelling the entire length of the route between Clapham Junction and Eltham station.

You can refer to this and other frequently asked questions on our website here.

Thank you for your interest in the SL15 Superloop proposal.

The public consultation will run until Sunday 30 November 2025. During this period, we are actively seeking feedback from residents, stakeholders, and passengers to help shape the final design of the route.

Once the consultation closes, we will review all feedback received and publish a consultation report. Decisions about implementation timelines will be established once the review process is complete.

Thank you for your question. TfL currently operate the largest zero-emissions fleet in Western Europe, and our goal is to become entirely Net Zero by 2030, so there is scope for it to become a zero-emissions fleet either from day one or within the next five years.

Thank you for your question. The proposed SL15 Superloop service is planned to operate with single-decker buses. This decision is due to the low railway bridge on Thurlow Park Road near Tulse Hill, which makes it unsuitable for double-decker vehicles.

Thank you for your question. We anticipate that the regular service and the express nature of the SL15 will create additional capacity along the corridor, provide quicker journey options, and improve connectivity to major hubs. This would ease pressure on existing routes and encourage the use of public transport.

Thank you for your suggestion. We understand the concern about capacity and we are committed to monitoring demand and feedback closely. We will explore options to enhance service provision.

Thank you for your question. Congestion and pollution on the A205 remains a priority for TfL -- ULEZ has had a positive impact and the proposed SL15 Superloop would further reduce private vehicle use. TfL will continue to consider additional interventions, such as traffic reduction schemes, enhancing active travel infrastructure, and monitoring London's air quality.

  • Share How will this impact traffic between the Grove Tavern and Forest Hill station? Road works and emergency repairs happen a lot along Lordship Lane/London Road and an additional bus route is likely to add to this. Thank you for your question. Currently, there is no single bus route that follows the A205 South Circular. Proposed route SL15 would provide many new links along the corridor providing an alternative to private car and encouraging mode shift away from private vehicles that account for the majority of the traffic.

Thank you for raising this concern.

We are aware of the disruption caused by long-term utility works along the A205 and we take these issues seriously when planning new services like SL15. TfL works closely with Thames Water and other utility providers. This includes participation in the ‘Dig Once’ approach, which aims to reduce repeated excavations by coordinating works across multiple agencies. Since April 2024, this collaboration has helped avoid over 400 days of disruption across London. We are committed to ensuring any new routes operate reliably and safely.
