What is the Superloop?

The Superloop is made up of express bus routes some of which join together to circle the entire capital, connecting key outer London town centres, stations, and transport hubs. It’s designed to provide quicker journey times with routes stopping less frequently, while serving key places such as town centres, hospitals, schools, and transport interchanges.

Are changes to other bus routes in the area proposed as part of the plan to introduce the SL15 route?

No. Other local bus routes are not subject to change as part of the proposal to introduce new route SL15. Should we decide to proceed, then we will review bus stop arrangements in Clapham Junction.

If you decide to introduce the SL15 route, when would the service start to operate?

Subject to the outcome of consultation, we may introduce the SL15 in 2027.

How long might a typical journey on the SL15 take?

Taking into consideration traffic conditions, it may take up to 75 minutes to complete a journey on the SL15 if travelling the entire length of the route between Clapham Junction and Eltham station.

What other new routes are planned as part of Superloop expansion?

Our plans for new route SL15 are the final set of six new bus route consultations announced as proposals to expand the Superloop express bus network this year.

So far in 2025 we have concluded three public consultations and confirmed our intention to introduce new Superloop routes BL1SL11 and SL12.

    During autumn 2025 we:

    • Are consulting on proposals for new Superloop route SL13 between Hendon and Ealing Broadway until Wednesday 22 October
    • Are consulting on proposals for new Superloop route SL14 between Stratford bus station and Chingford Hatch until Wednesday 5 November
