Our Youth Panel is TfL’s platform for you to be a voice for young people and your communities who travel across the pavements, roads, and tracks of London.

We're looking for passionate young advocates to join TfL’s Youth Panel and weave their identities, stories, and communities into the transport network that connects us Londoners every day.

More than 30% of London's population is under 25 years old, so it’s essential that TfL delivers for you and your community, no matter your background. If you’re aged 16-25, we want to work with you to amplify the voices of young people and to develop your skills, confidence and network.

No experience is needed- if you are passionate about how transport could work better for young Londoners and your community and ready to work in collective, we want to hear from you. We recognise how important it is that our panel truly reflects London, so we’re particularly keen to hear from disabled Londoners, young women, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, people from lower-income backgrounds, and people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds.

Being on the Youth Panel is a really exciting opportunity to...

• Meet other young people from across London with a passion for bringing young voices closer to the heart of decision-making for London’s transport systems.
• Be a champion for young people in London to not just inherit, but build the future of London transport with decision-makers.
• Gain a behind-the-scenes understanding of TfL, with the opportunity to work with TfL teams and shape projects before they’re launched.
• Develop transferable skills, including representing TfL at events, debating, presenting, problem solving and teamwork in a fun environment and within the wider London and international public sector.

Projects we have worked on in the last few years include...

• Advocating for and bringing to life student monthly discounts for Santander Cycles
• Questioning and raising concerns to senior TfL officers at important meetings on major projects and day-to-day transport services
• Co-developing relatable TfL marketing campaigns for everyday Londoners, encouraging public transport and active travel
• "Tomorrow's TfL" a 12-month exploration project and final report to make a set of final recommendations on how TfL can improve the sustainability of the network for young Londoners

How it works

• We connect over food and discussions that shape TfL services every two months, in-person, on Wednesday from 5pm-8pm. Each meeting involves workshops on different TfL projects and growing our collectiveness!
• We expect our members to be able to come to every meeting (where possible). TfL will cover your travel expenses and provide catering for each Youth Panel meeting.
• We also stay in touch in between the meetings. We frequently have opportunities to get involved with different TfL projects and youth events around London as they come up (our offer to cover food and travel costs extend to these!) .
• You will need to commit to attending the panel for at least one year. You can be a member of the panel for a maximum of three years.

How can I apply?

• You can apply by filling out the form below! Applications close at 23:59 on Sunday 15 November 2026
• Successful candidates will be invited to interview and questions will be sent to interviewees in advance. We will conduct your interview in a relaxed, informal manner
• Your application doesn’t need to prove any skills or qualifications, you just need to demonstrate a passion for how TfL shapes London and being a voice for your community
