We will also respond to issues raised during the consultation period and publish a report with the findings and final decision.

Overview

As part of our work to improve our customers’ transport experience, we are proposing to change part of the route that bus route 410 takes, and we want to know your views. We are now holding a public consultation on our proposals, running from 6 September to 17 October 2021, and you can find details on how to take part below.

Bus route 410 currently makes two turns off Davidson Road in both directions of travel, down Christie Drive and Towpath Way in the Woodside area of the London Borough of Croydon. We are proposing to remove route 410 from Christie Drive and Towpath way, so route 410 continues directly down Davidson Road in both directions. The four bus stops that serve Christie Drive and Towpath Way will be removed, and two new stops on Davidson Road will be installed. Passengers currently boarding or alighting at either Christie Drive or Towpath way would need to walk an additional 150-200m to the new stops.

To understand more about the proposals, you can view a map of the proposed changes in the ‘Documents’ section. You can also read our Equality Impact Assessment (EqIA) for the scheme.

Purpose

We want to improve the journey experience for our customers and encourage the use of public transport. Our proposals to remove Christie Drive and Towpath Way from Route 410 and divert the bus directly down Davidson Road with two new stops, will improve journey time for passengers, saving two minutes in each direction of the route.

Where will the new bus stops be placed?

Tamara95 asked about 3 years ago

Thank you for your question. The proposed new bus stops would be marked with a flag on the pavement and would be located between properties 565 and 567 on Davidson Road in the northbound direction, and properties 556 and 558 in the southbound direction.

You can view a map with the proposed changes here, or by visiting the ‘documents’ section of this page.
