Between 11 May and 21 June 2022, we consulted on a proposal to make the temporary extension of bus route 383 to Finchley Memorial Hospital permanent.
A total of 109 people responded to the consultation. Thank you to those of you that provided feedback.
After carefully considering all the responses, we have decided to proceed with our proposal for route 383. The permanent extension of the route to Finchley Memorial Hospital will come into effect on 22 October 2022.

After carefully considering all the responses, we have decided to proceed with our proposal for route 383. The permanent extension of the route to Finchley Memorial Hospital will come into effect on 22 October 2022.

Overview
In October 2020 we extended bus route 383 from Woodside Park station to Finchley Memorial Hospital as a temporary measure during the Covid-19 pandemic, because a number of health services had been moved from the Royal Free Hospital to Finchley Memorial. We are now proposing to make this extension to the route permanent, and we would like to know your views on our proposal.
Prior to October 2020, route 383 operated between Barnet, The Spires and Woodside Park station. The extended route follows Woodside Park Road back out from Woodside Park station to Finchley High Road via Tally Ho Corner and onto Granville Road before terminating at the hospital. In addition to serving the hospital, the extension to route 383 provides a link to the retail and leisure facilities at Tally Ho Corner, and to Woodside Park station for passengers on the southern section of Finchley High Road.
Route 383 runs on Monday to Saturday daytimes only with buses every half an hour. We are not proposing to make any changes to the frequency or operating hours of the route.
Equalities Impact Assessment
We have undertaken an Equality Impact Assessment (EqIA). The EqIA examines what impact (positive or negative) all of the proposed route changes have on customers with characteristics protected by the Equality Act 2010.
We consider the impacts of bus service change proposals on equality groups throughout the planning process ensuring, where possible, effective mitigations are in place where no viable alternative is available. The EqIA can be found in the 'Documents' section on the right of this page.
