Route 310 Holloway Nags Head
Consultation has concluded
We have now published our consultation report, which includes our decision to proceed with the changes as proposed in the consultation materials.
Please visit the ‘Latest news’ page for more details.
Proposals
We announced a number of changes as a result of the route 310 trial and consultation which will be introduced as part of the new contract later this year. These are:
- Running the service later in the day across all days of the week
- Extending the service to Rookwood Road, and
- Maintaining the frequency of a bus running every 20 minutes
We are now proposing to re-route the 310 via Holloway, Nag’s Head, instead of via Stroud Green Road, at Finsbury Park – please see the map below for further details:

Re-routeing the 310 via Holloway, Nag’s Head would create new connections to Holloway Road, Seven Sisters Road, Tollington Road and Isledon Road, increasing the number of people who could benefit from the new links. It’s also expected that journey times would be faster for passengers already using the service between Stamford Hill and Golders Green.
Subject to the outcome of this additional consultation, we would introduce the change as part of the new contract alongside the other changes as noted above.Buses in London
London’s bus network is our most affordable, accessible, and available form of public transport. It offers the main sustainable alternative to cars for those journeys that cannot easily be walked or cycled.
We continuously review and adapt the bus network to reflect changing customer needs. This includes proposing changes to existing bus routes, so services operate in areas where our customers need them most.
Read more about how we are increasing the number of bus journeys by making bus travel better, faster and greener in our Bus action plan.
How it impacts you
We have conducted an Equality Impact Assessment on this proposal and it has highlighted the following findings:
Positive impacts
- Re-routeing via Holloway would generate new links
- It is expected that journey times between Stamford Hill and Golders Green would also decrease
- The proposals provide new direct journey opportunities, removing the need for some passengers to change between buses. In turn, journey times would reduce for some passengers
- Passengers would be able to make a direct journey later into the evening, reducing the need to interchange in hours of darkness
Negative impacts
- Some passengers who have used the route during the trial period to travel to and from the section between Archway and Finsbury Park would need to change bus in future as they would have done before the trial. Route 210 would continue to serve the roads between Finsbury Park and Archway.

Update 15 May 2026
Following analysis of the responses received during the consultation, we have now published our consultation report, which includes our decision to go ahead with rerouteing the 310 via Holloway, Nag’s Head. We can also now confirm that route 310 will be retained on a permanent basis and we are going to extend operating hours to midnight on all days and extend the service to Stamford Hill, Rookwood Road. We expect these changes to be introduced as part of the new contract on 5 September 2026.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in this and previous consultations. We recognise that some people are not supportive of this rerouting and we will keep the route under review. Our analysis shows that routeing the 310 via Holloway Nags Head will generate more new trips (approximately 470 new daily trips on weekdays, including approximately 365 new links). Also, journey times for through - customers are expected to decrease by an average of 2 minutes, resulting in quicker journey times between Stamford Hill and Golders Green.
The new routeing via Holloway Nags Head also allows us to serve bus stops R and S on Seven Sisters Road, improving access to Finsbury Park station.
There were 367 responses to the consultation, including four from stakeholders:
• 85 respondents (37% of respondents to this question) stated that the proposal would have a positive impact
• 107 respondents (47%) said it would have a negative impact
• 18 respondents (8%) said it would have no impact
• 18 respondents (8%) said they did not know
The top five issues raised were:
• Concern about losing a direct link to/from Stroud Green Road, Crouch Hill or Hornsey as provided during the initial trial period
• Concern that Holloway Road and Seven Sisters Road are already served by a number of other routes and route 310 isn’t required on these roads
• Support for the creation of new direct links between Holloway and Hampstead/Golders Green; and general support for the proposals
• General opposition to the proposals
Thank you again to everyone who took part in the consultation.
