We have now published our consultation report, which includes a decision as to how we will proceed with the proposed change to bus route 319, and our response to the key issues raised during consultation.

We are proposing to permanently withdraw the presently suspended weekend-only night service on bus route 319.

It ran on the same routeing as the day service on route 319, between Streatham Hill, Telford Avenue and Sloane Square Station via Tooting Bec Station.

  • Share Hi team, Appreciate that this particular service has been suspended for almost 5 years, but I wanted to know what the cost saving is for TfL in not reintroducing this service? Ie. before 2020, how many passengers were using this service, how much it cost (fuel, drivers, maintenance etc.) TfL to run it, and thus how much money was it losing the organisation to run it? I don't think it makes sense to simply say 'it's been suspended for 5 years' as a reason to scrap the service without telling the public how much it would cost to re-establish it.     Thank you for your question. 

    The withdrawal of the suspended weekends-only night service on route 319 would allow TfL to continue to make an estimated net saving of about £500,000 per year, taking into account operational costs including vehicles, fuel and driver duties as well as foregone revenue from not running the service.
