673 bus route - proposed withdrawal
We would like your feedback on our proposals to permanently withdraw school bus route 673.
Use the following buttons to find out more about what is proposed, view route maps and how to have your say.
You have until Monday 7 July 2025 to give us your feedback.
Proposals
We are proposing to permanently withdraw the school bus route 673. It currently makes one journey in the afternoon from Pemberton Gardens in Chadwell Heath to Beckton Bus Station, primarily serving The Warren School. It also passes Robert Clack and All Saints Catholic Schools. Why?
Why we are proposing this
- From Chadwell Heath High Road onwards, route 673 parallels route 173
- The 673 needs one bus to operate the afternoon service - this bus will be re-allocated to route 173’s schedule to improve reliability
- This change will allow us to better use our limited resources
How it impacts you
- If you currently use the 673, you will have to walk approximately 630 metres to Chadwell Heath High Road (Stop R) for route 173 to complete your journey
- Alternatively, you can use bus route 62 (every 10-12 minutes) or 362 (every 30 minutes) and change along Chadwell Heath High Road for route 173 to complete your journey
- We have carried out an Equality Impact Assessment for the bus service changes
- While there will be some disbenefit to users of the 673, this is outweighed by the benefit to users of the 173, through more consistent journey times on the 173
- Further, as there is no morning service of the 673, we are not asking any users of the 673 to do anything they do not already do in the mornings
