London Bridge and Borough High Street walking and cycling changes
Background and our updated plans for London Bridge and Borough High Street
During the summer of 2020, as part of our response to the coronavirus pandemic, we made temporary changes on London Bridge and along Borough High Street to make it easier for people to walk, cycle, use the bus and to help people to safely social distance. We recently decided to keep these changes as part of an experiment, to further test the scheme for up to 18 months.

We want to know your views and experiences of these changes. We are holding a six-month consultation on the experiment. You can reply by following the link to the survey below. We want this consultation to be accessible to everyone.
There is an Easy Read version of our materials in the ‘Documents’ section. There is also an Easy Read version of our survey. In the bottom right-hand corner, there is also a British Sign Language video which includes audio. If you need to translate this page into another language, please use the ‘Select language’ button in the bottom-left hand corner of this page.
On this page you can find out more about the scheme and what engagement and consultation you can expect from us. You can ask us a Question, respond to our Survey and register for scheme updates.
You will need to register with our Have your say platform to take part in the online survey. Your details will be kept secure. You have until 27 January 2023 to have your say on the scheme.
Enhancements to Borough High Street
We have decided to consult on the changes for London Bridge and Borough High Street together as these locations are close to each other and the changes are complementary.
We will keep the temporary changes on London Bridge in place during the new experimental period and we will be replacing the blue barriers which mark out the widened pavements in Borough High Street with semi-permanent materials. We expect that the construction on Borough High Street will take place in autumn 2022. We have produced some images to show what the street might look like once these changes are finished which can be viewed above and below:
