Today we have published our consultation report following this consultation.
We received 399 responses to the consultation and would like to thank everyone that took part. After carefully considering all the responses, we have decided to proceed with our proposal for route 315. Overview
We would like to know your views on a proposal to extend bus route 315 from Balham Station to the new development at Springfield University Hospital in Tooting.

London’s bus network is our most affordable, accessible and available form of public transport and offers the main sustainable alternative to cars for those journeys that can’t easily be walked or cycled. It is also London’s most flexible mode of public transport, and we continuously review and adapt the bus network to ensure that services reflect changing customer needs.
Following the Mayor’s announcement that the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) will be expanded London-wide in August, we are undertaking a number of bus consultations across outer London to strengthen alternatives to private cars and maximise the benefits of expanding the ULEZ.
Springfield University Hospital is being redeveloped. The approved masterplan will deliver;
a modernised hospital to provide state-of-the-art mental health care,
over 800 new homes
a new care home
new shops and cafes
a new 32-acre public park and
land for the development of a new school.
To access the development the Buses would operate in both directions along Balham High Road, Tooting Bec Station, Trinity Road, Glenburnie Road and Springfield Drive.
Route 315 is a single deck bus route operating between West Norwood and Balham Station every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes and every 30 minutes on Sundays and all evenings.
We are proposing one set of new bus stops on Glenburnie Road.
One stop would be outside Fircroft Primary school, for buses heading towards Trinity Road. This bus stop would involve the loss of four parking spaces on Glenburnie Road
The second stop would be at the junction of Glenburnie Road and Beechcroft Road with the bus heading towards Springfield Hospital. Three parking spaces would be lost.

We are also proposing two new bus stops on Springfield Drive:

Buses play a crucial role in making London a more prosperous and connected city, connecting Londoners to their workplaces, education, families, friends, shopping and leisure.
These proposed improvements would build on our existing work to grow the bus network in outer London and create faster connections, provide better coverage and more direct, frequent services.
Connecting with London's deaf community on our consultations:
To enhance how we engage and consult with London's deaf community we are trialling a British Sign Language (BSL) consultation conversation service for this consultation.
This service will allow the TfL consultation lead to have a two way BSL translated discussion on any aspect of this consultation with a BSL speaker. To request a BSL consultation conversation please contact us at haveyoursay@tfl.gov.uk and we will be in contact to arrange this at a convenient time. You can view the BSL videos of our proposals and survey by clicking on the videos.
Following this trial we will evaluate the service to determine if this is something we are able to offer on other consultations in the future.
